The San Antonio Women’s March brings together all those who are fighting for the rights of women in San Antonio and world over. A parade precedes a large rally in Milam Park on Commerce Street with speeches, live music, and dancing performances.
No matter your beliefs witnessing an event of this magnitude makes an impact on the viewer. Watching people protest and share their beliefs in the streets of San Antonio was truly awe inspiring. The main objective of attending was to capture the essence of the march. I wanted to show the meaning and focus, which was on women and women’s rights.
There were many young girls there drawing on the sidewalks with chalk, leaving messages of empowerment and symbols of femininity. There were a lot of art pieces and colorful banners, which were perfect subjects for photography.
These are a series of documentary photos, meant to tell a story.
