The concept for this was to redesign a previous work, I chose a mailer that didn’t have much in the way of design. My theme for this project: Comic Books. One of the biggest conventions in San Antonio is Alamo City Comicon. It seemed only logical to create a series of collateral pieces for their annual three day frenzy of geekdom.

The collateral pieces included:
Mailer (Double-Sided, Folded)
Tickets (3)
Day Passes (3)
Swag Bags (3)

Since the campaign is exploring the idea of duality with heros and anti-heros I wanted to use the masks of Deadpool and Iron Man. I felt that they both had the aspect of each one. Deadpool the perfect anti-hero and Iron Man the perfect hero.
Sometimes they both show aspects of a hero and a villain. In order to create a cohesivness I came up with a name and logo. That is where Anti/Hero: A Retrospective in Duality is born.

Comics give us a hero and a villian, but they also give us the anti- hero. This person is a protagonist who lacks conventional heroic qualities such as idealism, courage, or morality. These individuals often possess dark personality traits such as disagreeableness, dishonesty, and aggressiveness.

Anti-hero…Focusing on Iron Man and Deadpool, I created a heavy text with extreme drop shadow, focusing on the in theme of opposites. I chose to keep the same color scheme that Alamo City Comic Con uses in their campaigns. I decided to use halftones to recall the vintage style of comic books and coloring.
